Hello again!
In my second book review video (which you can find HERE), I discuss two new-ish novels by author Stuart Gibbs. Mr. Gibbs is the author of several juvenile mystery/adventure novels with 12 year old boys as the main characters. The two books I review are:
Spy School which is the first book in the Spy School series
and
Spaced Out which is the second book in the Moon Base Alpha series.
I didn't realize that Spaced Out was the second book in the series, but I still enjoyed it and didn't feel like I missed out on anything by not reading the first novel. But there were several aspects that would probably have been a little more clear if I had read the first book, Space Case, first. The first book's mystery is a murder mystery however, so if that isn't something you want your kids to read, then just have them skip to the second novel, which is a missing person mystery (with a happy ending).
Like I mention in the video, Spy School does have a little language and more violence, though no one is killed or seriously harmed. I am not a big spy story person so I preferred Space Case, but that is my personal preference.
If you want your kid to think about and analyze these books rather than just flying through them, here are a few resources you could use:

I hope you find the review and resources useful! Let me know what your child thinks of the books!
